The Tiny Church is coming to the Karlsruhe trade fair

In 2023 it had to be canceled at short notice, but in 2024 it will be there: the Tiny Church from Offenburg will be part of NEW HOUSING from 28 to 30. June.

Living in a small space is no longer a rarity. Whether Tiny Houses in Wheels, modular or other types of mini houses, the possibilities are as varied as their inhabitants.

FEG builds Tiny Church

But small spaces can also be used in other ways. The Freie Evangelische Gemeinde Offenburg (FEG) shows what is possible. Its members built the Tiny Church last year. Sylvia Kärcher is mainly responsible for the construction. The 33-year-old is a carpenter with both a journeyman's certificate and a degree in theology. She had already built Tiny Houses in Turkey and Brandenburg before her time in Offenburg. At the FEG, she combined her two professions. The result was the Tiny Church.

Where the church appears

Kärcher and the other members of the congregation have already used the small mobile church to visit retirement homes, where they have held church services with the residents, sung, read and philosophized together. The Tiny Church is also regularly on market squares, where the FEG provides information about the project and gives people a good time. Future plans include community festivals and even a silent disco.

Church on the NEW HOUSING

Anyone who wants to know how the Tiny Church is used at NEW HOUSING and how surprisingly spacious it is despite its dimensions of three meters long and 2.30 meters wide inside can experience this for themselves from 28 to 30 June at Messe Karlsruhe.
