Business Day of NEW HOUSING: a day to invest
At the new BUSINESS DAY, investors, local authority representatives and tourism operators will learn how to generate high revenues from tiny houses. Exclusive projects will be on offer at the event, in which attendees can invest directly.
Where can I find plots of land? How do I find the right builders? Which type of house is the right one? And how is it all financed? Anyone wishing to invest in and with tiny houses has many questions to answer. This is often time-consuming and not infrequently nerve-wracking.
The Business Day powered by Fabian Müller of NEW HOUSING on 26 June 2026 at the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre offers a solution. This event takes place alongside and in addition to the Tiny House Festival (Friday to Sunday, 26 to 28 June).
Target groups: Investors, tourism, local authorities
The Business Day is aimed specifically at three groups. Investors such as project developers or housing associations gain early market access to high-yield housing concepts, the opportunity to network with project partners and start-ups, and the best insight into trends, key figures and funding opportunities. They can also invest exclusively on-site, either alone or jointly with others, in tiny house projects.
‘The Business Day will be of particular interest to investors as we will be presenting IAB and short-term rental investment opportunities directly. The aim of the Business Day is to enable investors to network and engage with project developers. In short, it’s a 360° investment day,’ says Fabian Müller, the founder and managing director of vilcomo, who conceived the Business Day.
Exemplary projects for local authorities
Tourism providers, such as those at campsites or leisure parks, will learn about new accommodation concepts for adventure and nature tourism, gain inspiration from practical examples of successful providers, and discover innovation potential for sustainable tourism. Last but not least, representatives from local authorities will gain insights into solutions for the housing shortage and sustainable land use; they will learn about best practices from other cities and regions and become the key point of contact within their local authority regarding tiny houses and related initiatives. Furthermore, they will gain excellent contacts with providers and engage in dialogue on an equal footing.
“During the planning of the next event and in our numerous discussions with players from the housing and tourism sectors, it has become clear that an increasing number of investors are keen to include tiny houses in their portfolios. For campsite operators, tiny houses present a major opportunity to significantly improve the quality of their offerings. And local authorities, not least thanks to the so-called ‘Bauturbo’ (building boost) adopted in October 2025, now have the opportunity to approve tiny houses in a simple and relatively straightforward manner, and to actively shape modular housing developments, infill developments and redensification with mini-houses,” says NEW-HOUSING project manager Florian Klag, continuing: “So there is certainly interest in tiny houses, and there is an enormous need for information. We are meeting that need with our Business Day. We are bringing together experts in tiny houses and investors, as well as decision-makers from local authorities.”
Programme
The Business Day begins on the Friday of the trade fair, 26 June, at 9.30 am on the conference level of Messe Karlsruhe. Doors open from 9 am. The VIP car park is available free of charge to participants. Following the keynote speech by Fabian Müller, founder of vilcomo and an expert in connecting investors and local authorities, participants can decide which in-depth sessions they wish to attend. Sessions are available for local authorities, investors and the tourism sector.
We have secured a line-up of high-calibre speakers.

Following the deep dives, participants will have the opportunity to take a self-guided tour of NEW HOUSING. There, they can expect to find more than 80 exhibitors from all sectors of the tiny house industry. Alongside exhibitors offering accessories, sanitary facilities, financial products and more, there will be over 30 different tiny houses, modular homes and similar. To avoid long queues at the houses, the BUSINESS DAY ticket entitles holders to use the Fastline. This avoids queuing at the entrance doors. The self-guided tour is the ideal way to visit the exhibitors relevant to your specific project.
Limited number of participants
Following the tour, there will be a final get-together, once again on the congress level of the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre. There, participants will have the opportunity to ask any final questions.
